Stolen car suspects were arrested following a pursuit.

Five people were arrested after a stolen Audi Q5 was spotted in East Hanover Friday, Dec. 12, authorities said.

At 1 a.m., officers saw the Audi Q5 stolen out of Newark and a motor vehicle stop was attempted, East Hanover police said. The suspects fled on Ridgedale Avenue northbound toward Route 280, police said.

While fleeing, the vehicle struck the curb causing the front tire to go flat, police said. The pursuit continued into surrounding towns until it ended in Montville when the five suspects bailed out of the vehicle, police said.

EHPD units quickly apprehended two of the suspects and then with the assistance of several other police agencies, the other three suspects were arrested, police said. One suspect jumped into a pond and was arrested immediately with the assistance of The Morris County Sheriffs K-9, police said. 

They were all brought back to East Hanover Police where they were processed and charged, officers said. Qumarrye Richardson, a 19-year-old Bloomfield resident and three juveniles were charged and released, police said. Quadee Tubbs, a 19-year-old Irvington resident was transported to the Morris County Correctional Facility, police said.
