OMAHA, Neb. —
The Furniture Project provides household items to people in need, serving more than 5,000 individuals across the metro last year. Much of the work is done by volunteers who donate a few hours each week, but their contribution makes a tremendous impact.
Volunteers say the experience is uplifting and aligns with their desire to care for others. Many of them describe the warehouse as a place that not only helps the community but also builds one.
The organization delivers thousands of essential items to vulnerable families, a task that would be impossible without volunteer support. Community relations coordinator Tinca Joyner says volunteers are truly essential and that the project relies on people with all types of skills.
