STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The NYPD is investigating an incident where shots were fired in Stapleton on Thursday night.

The incident was called at 10:14 p.m. in the 200 block of Gordon Street near Laurel Avenue, according to a spokesman for the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.

Ballistic evidence was recovered at the scene and investigators were canvassing the area for possible video footage of the crime, according to a source with knowledge of the investigation.

No injuries or property damage were reported, the police spokesman said.

A description of the suspect is not yet available from police.

The investigation continues, the police spokesman said.
