AKRON, Ohio – The city of Akron on Friday announced it will extend hours at the Summit Lake Community center on Sunday, Dec. 14, and Monday, Dec. 15, to give community members a place to warm up.
The Summit Lake Community Center is located at 380 W. Crosier St. The center’s extended hours are from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
All other Akron community centers can also be used as warming centers. Other centers will be open during regular hours.
The city will continue to monitor temperatures and extended community center hours as needed, according to a news release. The centers will return to regular business hours beginning on Tuesday, Dec. 16.
