UK adults are now spending 58 hours a year recording voice messages, with over a third believing these audio clips are replacing genuine face-to-face conversations. Research among 2,000 adults found they typically record six messages a day, each lasting about 95 seconds. As a result, 22% have found listening to lengthy voice notes tedious, and 15% describe the experience as tiresome.
Nearly four in ten (38%) regular users have even spent entire evenings recording audio messages instead of meeting friends in person. Additionally, 19% admit to sending recordings longer than five minutes, while
