BOISE, Idaho — A unique hotel guest was recovered from a Boise hotel, and a local shelter is looking for its owner.

Idaho Humane Society said their Animal Care & Control team recovered a ball python found in a Boise Hyatt hotel room.

"Imagine checking into your hotel room and discovering a guest you definitely didn’t expect," the Idaho Human Society said on Instagram. "That’s exactly what happened at a Hyatt in Boise, where this ball python was patiently waiting to get acquainted with the next traveler."

It's not clear when the python was located.

The shelter said they hope to connect the scaly creature with its rightful owner. They said if you recognize the snake, you can come to the Idaho Humane Society and claim him with proof of ownership.
