IDAHO, USA — State Highway 21 will reopen ahead of the weekend after wet weather and a resulting rockslide closed the highway for multiple days.
The rockslide happened Tuesday after an atmospheric river in the Pacific Northwest brought heavy rain to the mountains. Idaho Transportation Department had closed SH-21 between Sourdough and Banner Summit to clean up the rockslide.
ITD announced the highway will reopen at 5 p.m. Friday with reduced lanes.

Temporary barriers will be in place over the weekend to protect travelers from potential falling rocks, ITD said. Drivers are advised to use caution and stay alert while driving in the area.
