49ers linebacker Fred Warner has continued to prove that he is one of the best players to suit up for the Red and Gold, both on and off the field.

With Super Bowl LX at Levi's Stadium less than 60 days away, Warner was the latest athlete featured Thursday on the Bay Area Host Committee's panel. He was asked who his biggest mentor was coming into the NFL and gave a name that will surely bring a smile to the 49ers Faithful.

"I had a ton of mentors, but without a doubt, in the NFL, it all started with DeMeco Ryans," Warner said.

Ryans was San Francisco's linebackers coach from 2018-20 and defensive coordinator from 2021-22. His first year with the team coincided with Warner's. Ryans, a former linebacker himself, left after just two seasons as defensive coordinator to become head coach for
