BOISE, Idaho — Boise's mayor announced an additional investment in affordable housing in the Treasure Valley.
In a Thursday news release, Mayor Lauren McLean announced an additional $6.7 million to go toward affordable housing in Boise. According to the mayor's office, that brings the total investment in affordable housing to $68.4 million.
"Investing in affordable housing is a clear indicator that we are advancing our highest priority – making sure that every Boisean has a place to call home within their budget," Mayor McLean said in a statement.
Mayor McLean established a fund in 2021 to address the need for more affordable housing. This led to new housing projects such as Wilson State, The Franklin and Denton, which opened officially this week.
