U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) was presented with an honorary doctorate Friday by University of South Alabama (USA) president Jo Bonner.
"Congratulations, Senator Britt, or should I say, Dr. Britt," Bonner said. "And as she said to those who couldn't hear in the back, she's a member of the class of 2025, so you've got a pretty famous classmate, graduates."
Britt delivered the commencement address, congratulating students and offering life advice. Britt emphasized the inevitability of failure and reminded students they don't need to have their life plans fully mapped out right now.
