Mike Jacobs seized the opportunity to make his mark at home.
The 28th head football coach in University of Toledo history and Maumee native was introduced at Savage Arena on Friday with the goal of elevating the program from good to great.
He left the press conference with a surreal sense of nostalgia and an urge to continue a strong foundation of winning.
“To me, it’s so easy to see that true people are the people at home,” Jacobs said. “I’m Ohio born and Maumee made and I’ve been away, but now I’m back and there isn’t any other place I’d rather go.”
Jacobs already left an impression on the current student-athletes sitting in the audience.
