Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt had surgery for a partially collapsed lung, his brother J.J. said on social media Friday.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said T.J. Watt is home resting comfortably and will not play against the Miami Dolphins on Monday night.
J.J. Watt said the injury happened on Wednesday after "a dry needling treatment session" at the Steelers' facility.
"Recovery timeline is still TBD, but all went well, and he is being released from the hospital today. He and his family are very appreciative of everyone's kind words and well wishes," J.J. Watt said.
The Steelers have not made a statement regarding Watt's injury or his status for Monday night's game against the Miami Dolphins.
Tomlin said he did not have a possible timeline for how long Watt will remain out of action.
