KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Braylon Staley is continuing to rack up postseason accolades. Earlier this week, the star Tennessee wide receiver was recognized by the SEC as Freshman of the Year; now the same recognition is coming his way, this time from the Associated Press.
Staley had an impressive redshirt-freshman season, ranking sixth in the SEC in receiving yards, leading all SEC freshmen in receiving and receiving yards per game, and finishing tied for the league lead among freshmen with six touchdowns.
The South Carolina native was tabbed as the SEC Freshman of the Week twice this year and was also recognized as one of 14 semifinalists for the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award.
Three other Vols were named to All-SEC teams by the AP as well, including wide receiver Chris Brazzell II
