LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A grandmother who ran over her own grandchild in Indiana and left the scene will serve 12 years in prison.
Prosecutors had accused Lisa Tesch of running over her one-year-old granddaughter, Eleanor Campbell, at the Motel 6 in Jeffersonville back in June 2023.
Police said she never stopped to check on Eleanor and instead drove away. Eleanor died from her injuries.
On Friday, Dec. 12, the judge said she believes Tesch is remorseful years later but not so at the time of the accident.
“It was a total callous disregard for human life, and not only is it human life, but it is a toddler. I mean, it is an innocent toddler,” Judge Lisa Glickfield said.
