The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is sounding the alarm on the flu.
The health unit says flu season is in full swing early this year – and the number of cases reported for the season-to-date is more than 4 times the number of cases reported for the same time period in the last two flu seasons with more than usual hospitalizations and outbreaks.
The Health Unit says cases are expected to increase over the next two weeks as people gather for holiday events. Health officials are recommending the flu shot to protect from severe illness.
