MONROE COUNTY, Pa. — The halls of Pleasant Valley Elementary School in Polk Township are full of holiday cheer, with toys in hand, 1,000 students paraded through the school.
"The kids are innocent, they love the holidays, so they are always so excited, and this is our big event leading up to our last week of school before Christmas, so it really gets things going for us," said Asst. Principal Sarah Adams, Pleasant Valley Elementary School.
The bags quickly filled up with toys, more than 500 to be exact.
John Dickson is the Monroe County Toys for Tots coordinator. He says this year the organization will help provide gifts for 5,000 children in need.
