For some, the closing of FirstOntario Centre for renovations and the temporary relocation of the Toronto Rock meant the National Lacrosse League team was out of sight and out of mind. A year that didn’t exist. Not for them, anyway.
So as the club gets set to make its return to what’s now TD Coliseum on Saturday (7 p.m. faceoff against Calgary), let’s get you caught up on what you might’ve missed.
How was last season?
“It didn’t go as planned,” says goalie Nick Rose.
Kudos to the 37-year-old for his tact. He could’ve said, “It sucked.” He could’ve said, “It was a disaster.” He could’ve even said, “It was about as much fun as getting a deep-tissue massage from Edward Scissorhands.”
His answer was far more measured. But the truth is, things didn’t go well. Not at all.
