HAYSVILLE, Kan. (KWCH) - The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has removed the stream advisory for the MS Mitch Mitchell Floodway, also known as ‘The Big Ditch’.
The advisory was the result of a sanitary sewer overflow that happened in Haysville. After sampling the water, test results show that bacteria and contaminant levels are normal. KDHE says the stream is now safe for primary contact, meaning swimming, and livestock use.
