A man, aged in his 40s, has died at a construction site in Ringsend, Dublin, after appearing to fall from a crane which collapsed, as investigations are launched into the tragedy

A worker has tragically died at a construction site, having appeared to fall from a crane that collapsed.

The man in his 40s, who has not yet been named, is understood to have been working at an apartment complex site in Ringsend, Dublin , when the incident happened this afternoon.

Gardai and emergency services rushed to the scene of the old glass bottle site in Ringsend where it is suspected something fell from the crane and the worker fell with it, falling several floors onto a balcony, in the horror accident on Friday.
