SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - With the bitterly cold temperatures, it’s important to know the signs and symptoms of two conditions that can happen when you’re exposed to extreme cold.
We’re talking about frostbite and hypothermia.
In simple terms, hypothermia is when your core body temperature drops below 95 degrees Fahrenheit, which is dangerous.
It can happen quickly if you’re not prepared.
Here are the signs and symptoms to watch out for:
Shivering
Slurred speech or mumbling
Weak pulse
Confusion or memory loss
Loss of consciousness
