LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Country music icon John Michael Montgomery gave his final performance of the Road Home Tour at Rupp Arena, marking the end of his decades-long career.

Montgomery shared the stage with his brother Eddie Montgomery of Montgomery Gentry, his son Walker Montgomery and son-in-law Travis Denning for the farewell concert.

Fans said closing out Montgomery’s career in Lexington brought back memories for them.

“He’s a legend in our books, we grew up listening to 90s country and so it’s going to be a little nostalgic for us and we’re excited,” said Samantha Hyatt.

Sarah Toles said the performance reminded her of her childhood.
