ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - Many of our hometowns have already experienced low temperatures and heavy snow, and there’s more on the way.

Several people during the Dickens of a Christmas parade told us how they made it through the snow and how they are preparing for the upcoming cold front.

“Not really, it’s been really abnormally cold this year, so I’m like, oh,” one resident said.

Many of our hometowns experienced temperatures in the low 20s and some places saw more than four inches of snow.

During that time, people found ways to beat the cold.

“Building snowman, lots of hot chocolate and waiting for the parade tonight,” a Roanoke native said.

With wind chills expected to reach the negatives on Monday, people aren’t the only ones who are going to have to adapt to the weather.
