GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - Republican gubernatorial candidate Josh Schoemann was in Green Bay on Friday, outlining his plan to move state agencies out of Madison and around the state if he’s elected.
He says this is due to the cost of living and real estate being cheaper in smaller communities.
He also noted that final decisions will involve deliberation with the state legislature.
Schoemann’s plan includes selling state property in Madison and requiring state employees to return to in-person work.
“This would provide more opportunities to developers to create real estate needs, home ownership, and housing needs in Madison. While the cost of real estate here in Green Bay is demonstrably cheaper. I think it’s actually six times cheaper compared to Madison,” said Schoemann.
