The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) is investigating a two-car crash in Austintown that involved a patrol car.
According to a news release, the crash happened on December 12, 2025, around 9:30 p.m. on Interstate 680 near mile marker two in Austintown Township.
A State Trooper with the Canfield Post of the OSHP was traveling northbound on I-680 and was approaching the exit ramp to Meridian Road.
The release states that a 16-year-old driver of Niles, operating a 2019 Subaru WRX, entered I-680 using the Meridian Road exit ramp as an entrance ramp, now traveling southbound in the northbound lanes.
To avoid the oncoming Subaru, the trooper swerved and went off the right side of the roadway, down an embankment and struck a ditch before coming to rest.
