CHAPIN, S.C. — The Town of Chapin Planning Commission has deferred its decision on a proposed housing development along Murray Lindler Road following concerns about its high-density zoning.
According to town documents, the project would be built on more than 30 acres and include nearly 100 homes. The development would also require annexation into the Town of Chapin. During the December 11 meeting, much of the discussion focused on the developer’s request for high-density zoning, which would allow up to eight housing units per acre.
Planning Commission Chair Caleb Pozsik raised concerns about the spacing between homes under the proposed zoning.
“It looks like there is 14 feet between homes,” Pozsik said. “If I was paying for a half-million-dollar home, I’d want more space than that.”
