Cole Palmer is expected to be fit for Chelsea ’s Premier League clash with Everton this afternoon.
The England international’s season was derailed by a groin problem with a freak toe injury further delaying his return to the side.
Palmer was introduced off the bench away to Leeds last week, starting at Bournemouth last Saturday as he got more precious minutes under his belt.
The former Manchester City star did not train earlier this week and did not travel for the Champions League game against Atalanta . But that decision was one made with Palmer’s long-term fitness in mind, rather than a fresh problem.
Palmer returned to training on Thursday and will be available today – although Maresca did note he finished that session with a ‘mixed feeling’.
