Mattathur (Thrissur): State award-winning actor Akhil Viswanath (30) was found dead at his residence, local authorities confirmed. Akhil, who earned acclaim for his role in the 2019 Kerala State Award-winning film ‘Chola’, had also appeared in other notable films, including ‘Operation Java’.

Earlier in his career, Akhil, along with his brother Arun, received the Kerala State Government award for Best Child Artist for their performance in the telefilm ‘Maangaandi’.

His father, Viswanath, is currently undergoing treatment following serious injuries sustained in a recent motorcycle accident. His mother, Geetha, an employee at Kodaly Vyapaari Ekopana Samiti Vyaparabhavan, while preparing to leave for work, found Akhil dead at their home.
