A series of roadworks and closures are set to affect motorists in and around Durham this weekend (December 13 and 14).

Road users in Durham are being warned to expect significant disruption from a number of essential works that have already begun or are scheduled to take place.

Key roads such as Brierville, Station Road, Salters Lane, North Street, and the road leading to Hall Heads Farm are already subject to various traffic restrictions and closures, with additional works planned on major routes like Sherburn Road and the A181 in the coming months.

On Brierville, a road closure is in place, with Northern Gas Networks carrying out work that began on December 8 at 9.54am and is due to finish on December 12 at 5pm.
