PATNA : The JD(U) on Friday extended full support to RJD chief Lalu Prasad’s Singapore-based daughter Rohini Acharya, a day after she called for firm measures to safeguard women’s rights, urging the Bihar govt to ensure that “every daughter feels safe in her parental home”. The RJD and the Lalu family have maintained a complete silence, even as the issue has taken on sharp political overtones. Reacting to Rohini’s public “cry for help,” the JD(U) said CM Nitish Kumar’s govt prioritises the safety of women and would consider her concerns seriously. “We will definitely take note of her remarks as ensuring safety and rights for daughters remains our foremost priority.
