Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Saturday likened Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu, saying they were alike and shared a common trait: both wanted to be elected as Prime Minister and chief minister, respectively.
Mann’s remark to the media in Chandigarh comes at a time when politics has been heating up in Punjab after former MLA and Sidhu’s wife, Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu, levelled allegations on the Congress that Rs 500 crore was required for anyone to become a Congress chief minister, and that Sidhu would return to politics only if he was declared the CM candidate.
