This year has seen hundreds of bank branch closures across the UK, with more of the major lenders embracing the shift to online banking.

Nearly 400 branches have closed down in 2025, with Lloyds Bank, Halifax, Bank of Scotland, and NatWest announcing more for next year.

A Lloyds Banking Group spokesperson said: "The way people are banking has changed, with over 21 million customers choosing our apps to manage their money.
