AJ Shearer scored the game-winning goal in overtime as St. Joseph’s (Met.) took down St. Peter’s Prep, 2-1, at The Rink at American Dream Mall in East Rutherford.
Hunter Ferraro put St. Peter’s Prep (0-3) ahead with a goal in the first period after connecting on a pass from Nick Smith.
Connor Emmich tied the game for St. Joseph’s (2-2) in the second period. Shearer recorded an assist on the game-tying goal.
With the game tied at 1-1 after the third period, the game moved to overtime, where Shearer scored to win the game for St. Joseph’s. Emmich and Brady Cooper each had an assist on the game-winning goal.
Cameron Granelli made 20 saves or St. Joseph’s while Dustin Wolckenhauer made 25 saves for St. Peter’s Prep.
