US Mint unveils new coin designs to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary

(CNN) - The U.S. Mint has unveiled the designs for a special series of coins celebrating America’s 250th birthday.

For one year only, new designs will appear on the dime, quarter and half-dollar coins.

Each circulating coin will feature the dual dates 1776 and 2026.

The quarter will actually have five different designs available, reflecting key moments in American history.

The new coins will be released next year.
