HORACE — West Fargo Horace senior Alex Hall felt the love from the home crowd on Thursday night.
A reversal early in the third period put Hall in position to score the Hawks wrestling team another six points against Devils Lake in the team’s first-ever home dual at Horace High School.
As Hall buckled down to earn the fall, support from the Hawks faithful poured out into the dimly-lit gymnasium. He secured the pin at 4:47 in the 189-pound match and gestured towards the crowd after the post-match handshake.
“It’s honestly the best feeling there is in the world,” Hall said. “Hearing everyone cheering for you and showing up for our school. That’s why we do it.”
Horace ultimately fell to the Firebirds 52-21.
