DALLAS — Two people were killed in an overnight apartment fire near Far North Dallas, officials said.

Dallas Fire-Rescue was dispatched to an apartment fire in the 4000 block of Frankford Rd just before 3:30 a.m. on Saturday.

When crews arrived at the scene, they saw heavy flames coming from the first floor of a two-story apartment building. According to fire crews, they received reports of multiple people potentially trapped inside the apartment. At this time, a second alarm was issued, officials said.

One person was able to make it out of the apartment and was transported to the hospital in critical condition. That person was pronounced deceased at the hospital, according to Dallas-Fire Rescue.
