FRANKLIN COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Crowds lined U.S. Highway 98 early Friday to claim prime viewing spots for East Point’s 16th annual Christmas parade.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office led the procession, followed by community groups and decorated floats making their way through town. Santa Claus also joined the parade, drawing cheers from families along the route.

Children filled their bags with candy, toys and giveaways tossed from passing floats.

“I picked up candy, I picked up ducks, I picked up a lot of stuff. I also picked up socks,” one child said.

After the parade, families gathered at the East Point Volunteer Fire Station for continued festivities. Children met Santa, received gifts and were offered free coats.
