Since the July mass overdose in West Baltimore’s Penn North neighborhood, DEA and Baltimore police have investigated drug trafficking operations in the area.
On Friday, the agencies took down three organizations that they allege were operating in the neighborhood.
Officials said one of the organizations operated on Brunt Street, and sold fentanyl, heroin and cocaine. Five people — including a juvenile — were indicted in the case.
Another organization operated at Cumberland and North Carey streets. Officials said they also distributed cocaine, fentanyl and heroin. Six other men and another juvenile face charges for their alleged roles in the group.
