MIDDLETOWN – The high school wrestling season is about to kick into full gear, and the Middletown boys’ are off to a hot start

Just last week, Middletown won the Mark Stephens Classic in Horseheads, going 7-0 on the mat. Highlights for the Middies included wins over Horseheads, the eighth-ranked Division I team in the state, and Waverly, which entered the event as the top-ranked Division II team in the state.

Aaden Scott went 7-0 with seven pins for Middletown at 170 pounds. The Middies have several other talented wrestlers, including D.J. Aviles, Anthony Noboa, Victor Leguillow, Evan Bryant, Francis Segura, Oscar Franco, and Miguel Nieves.

Expect Middletown to be a player on the mats this winter.
