KINGSTON – An off-duty City of Kingston police officer who shot a knife-wielding aggressor in a road rage incident on Thursday in the Orange County Town of Wawayanda has been placed on administrative leave, according to Kingston Police Chief Egidio Tinti.

The incident was captured on a dash cam by a third vehicle that was behind the others.

Police Officer Anthony Simon, employed by the Kingston Police since March 2022, assigned to the uniform patrol division, will be on leave until the New York State Police and the Orange County District Attorney’s Office conclude their investigations.

Wallace Fisher of Middletown passed Simon’s truck on Dolsontown Road Thursday afternoon and then stopped in the roadway, exited his vehicle, and began yelling at Simon through the driver’s window. Fisher
