A Turkish couple recently launched a new coffee and dessert shop in the space formerly occupied by Anonymous Coffee in the Norge Crossing shopping complex.

Elite Coffee & Lounge , operated by Jacob and Hayriye Tasci, opened Nov. 26 at 7500 Richmond Road.

Jacob Tasci was a lawyer in Turkey, while his wife was a teacher. The couple also owned a coffee shop in their native country before relocating to Williamsburg a few years ago. The Tascis decided to resume their coffee business after the space in Norge Crossing became available when Anonymous Coffee moved to New Town earlier this fall.

“I’ve always liked coffee,” Jacob Tasci said. “We decided to open because we wanted to change it up in Williamsburg when it comes to coffee.”
