The Karnataka government is ramping up efforts to boost its plastic sector by setting up dedicated plastic parks in Mangaluru and Vijayapura, aiming for a modern hub that fosters both economic and employment growth. Large and Medium Industries Minister M B Patil revealed these plans on Saturday.
During the launch of PLASTINDIA 2026, Patil announced the forthcoming establishment of a new campus for the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET) within the Mangaluru Plastic Park. This initiative aims to provide specialized training and promote research in polymer science, bolstering the sector's skill base. The 12th International Plastics Exhibition and Conference, PLASTINDIA 2026, is set for February in New Delhi.
