A suspected car prowler allegedly left a trail of busted vehicles across Virginia — and now he’s staring down 25 criminal charges.

Dwayne Anderson, 25, is responsible for a string of vehicle break-ins and thefts that hit multiple neighborhoods in Lorton throughout the month of November.

The trouble started on Nov. 1 on Franklin Woods Place, where residents reported cars being damaged and items stolen. Two weeks later, cops were back at it again on Potters Hill Circle, responding to more reports of vehicle tampering and destruction.

Detectives pulled surveillance video, connected the dots, and say Anderson didn’t stop there.

Investigators linked him to additional break-ins on Nov. 27, with damaged vehicles reported across George Fox Place, Thomas Baxter Place, William Augustus Court, and other nearby streets.

With help from the Gang Investigations Unit, police tracked Anderson down and arrested him on Wednesday, Dec. 10, in Fairfax, authorities said.

He’s now charged with:

  • Eleven counts of destruction of property;
  • Six counts of vehicle tampering;
  • Multiple larceny offenses;
  • Credit card theft;
  • Possession of stolen property.

Anderson is being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on a $9,000 secured bond.
