Fire crews responded to two separate structure fires in Emporia on Friday, Dec. 12, according to the Emporia Fire Department.
The first fire was at 1302 East St., Lot 46 1/2, where emergency responders found two mobile homes and a shed on fire.
EFD arrived at 3:35 p.m. and, with assistance from the Olpe Fire Department, contained and extinguished the fire without incident. No damage to surrounding homes or businesses was reported, and the scene was cleared at 9:27 p.m. The property is owned by Emporia Estates LLC.
As of Saturday, Dec. 13, the cause and origin of the fire had not been determined, and fire investigators were continuing their investigation.
Later that evening, crews were dispatched to 2207 E. Bayfront Court for a reported residential structure fire.
