Acclaimed actress Sheridan Smith has spoken about the heartbreaking reason for her public breakdown.
The Gavin and Stacey star believed her career was over after she had to step back from Funny Girl in the West End - where she played the lead role - in 2016 after audience members alleged she was slurring her lines.
Sheridan was consuming alcohol heavily, had developed a dependency on anti-anxiety medication and was rushed to hospital following a seizure before stepping away from the public eye.
It led to Graham Norton quipping that she'd had "a few glasses of technical difficulties, as it's known in theatrical circles" as he presented the BAFTAs.
