There have been several prominent Penn State football opt-outs this week with the Nittany Lions’ Dec. 27 Pinstripe Bowl matchup with Clemson inching closer.

Interim head coach Terry Smith will be directing the Nittany Lions against Dabo Swinney’s Tigers.

Matt Campbell, Penn State’s new permanent head coach and Iowa State’s former head coach, has been busy filling out his staff the last few days.

Smith, who has been at Penn State since the 2014 season, was PSU’s cornerbacks coach before athletic director Pat Kraft named him interim head coach.

It was announced earlier that Smith will have role on Campbell’s staff.
