Both Edmonton’s new goalie Tristan Jarry and new d-man Spencer Stastney look like they’ll both be in for the Oilers-Toronto Maple Leafs game tonight.

As Tony Brar of Oilers TV reports: “Spencer Stastney is set to make his Oilers debut on a pairing with Ty Emberson. The pair played together in the US National Development program years ago (2016-18).”

Stastney has gone through a rough patch in terms of his mental health but has now come out the other side. He took off time in late 2024 and nearly retired but credits his old team the Nashville Predators, the NHLPA and former player Mark Borowiecki with helping him through his crisis. As Stastney worked through the complicated riddle of what was bringing him down, he came to see his issue wasn’t related so much to his dread of playing hockey
