KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Knoxville firefighters put out a blaze before noon on Saturday at a church on Dayton Street.
The fire department said it was called to the building in the 2100 block on Dayton Street at 11:35 a.m., after someone reported smoke coming from the eaves.
Firefighters got inside the building and extinguished the fire about 10 minutes later, the fire department said.
There's heavy smoke damage and water damage in the building, along with some fire damage.
The building does not seem to be actively in use, the fire department said.
No one was injured and firefighters cleared the scene at 12:30 p.m.
