SOUTHFIELD, MI - Police are investigating an early morning drive-by shooting on an interstate in Southfield.

The Detroit Regional Communication Center was notified shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, of a rollover crash and 10 shots fired on I-96, according to the Michigan State Police Second District on X .

Troopers dispatched to the area were unable to locate a crash or any obvious evidence of a shooting.

At 1:50 a.m., Dearborn Police were contacted by a 22-year-old Detroit man who alleged he was shot on the freeway.

At the hospital, police learned there were three people in a car traveling west on I-96 when an unknown SUV pulled alongside them and fired multiple shots at their vehicle.

The SUV then continued west on I-96.
