CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Abraham Isaac Quintanilla Jr., the father of late Tejano music legend Selena Quintanilla, has died.

His son, Abraham “A.B.” Quintanilla III, shared the news in an Instagram post , Saturday morning.

“It’s with a heavy heart to let you guys know that my Dad passed away today…," he wrote.

Quintanilla Jr. was a musician, producer and the driving force behind his daughter’s rise to international fame. Born in Corpus Christi, Texas, he began his own music career as a member of the vocal group Los Dinos before forming the family band Selena y Los Dinos, People reported .
