Airbnb is cracking down on New Year’s Eve parties with “anti-party technology,” the company announced on Thursday.
According to the short-term stay marketplace, its technology identifies bookings that could lead to disruptive parties and blocks them or redirects customers to other listings. The company didn’t specify what technology it uses but said it’s “powered by machine learning.”

“We remain committed to helping our hosts and communities support respectful stays, and shared vigilance is essential to that goal. We are urging parents, grandparents, and other adults to stay attentive to social media activity, and to not make or allow bookings on their account for others,” Airbnb said in a statement.
